Lil Peep posthumously teases music video for “16 lines”

A cryptic message has shown up on Lil Peep’s Instagram. Written in blue marker, a piece of paper says, “16 lines video out tomorrow.” “16 Lines” is from Lil Peep’s posthumous album, Come Over When You’re Sober, Pt. 2.

Lil Peep tragically died in late 2017 at the age of 21.

According to ElevatorMag, the original music video for “16 Lines” was leaked just 24 hours after the emo rapper’s death. However, the video is no longer available.

Additionally, fans can see a snippet of the forthcoming music video below.

While you wait for the full video, you can listen to the song’s audio below.

Despite the rapper’s passing, he had quite the catalog of unreleased songs. Because of this, his producer Smokeasac has been able to slowly release them to his fans, letting his legacy live on forever.

“There’s material for sure,” Smokeasac says in a story with NME. “I have a decent amount of songs with him and then he has music with other producers like Harry Fraud, Diplo, and then there’s an album with iLoveMakonnen. I’m glad to be a part of that.”

Despite this, Smokeasac has since shut down rumors about a potential Come Over When You’re Sober, Pt. 3.

Lil Peep’s other posthumous releases

Lil Peep’s mother Liza Womack released three songs prior to releasing Come Over When You’re Sober, Pt. 2. Those singles included “Cry Alone,” “Runaway” and “Life Is Beautiful.”

Peep’s memory has continued to live on since his passing from an emotional memorial service (where it was revealed Peep’s music would continue to be released) to a posthumous video for “Save That Shit” in December 2017.

Over 2018, several tracks featuring Peep have been released. Womack follows intentions to continue to release the music and art that Peep had planned to do himself in 2018.

The first of many of these tracks was “Spotlight” with producer and DJ Marshmello in January. Marshmello also released a video for the track a month later where he honored the late rapper.

“Peep brought an excitement to music that was unparalleled to anybody I’ve ever met,” Marshmello said of his collaboration with Peep.

“We started an idea together, that unfortunately we were never able to officially finish together. When I listen to this track now I get chills wishing he could hear it. This record is dedicated to Peep’s mother, family, friends and his fans. Gus will live forever through his music and that is something we should all be extremely thankful for.”

A few days after “Spotlight,” Peep’s “Got Em Like” with Juicy J and Wiz Khalifa was released. The track appears on Juicy J’s new 21-track mixtape #shutdafukup.

The ILoveMakonnen-helmed “Falling Down,” a posthumous collab with Peep and XXXTentacion, was released in August. Another version of the track, “Sunlight On Your Skin” with ILoveMakonnen was released in September.
