Lil Uzi Vert says he’s “done with music,” deletes everything

Lil Uzi Vert has announced that he is quitting music, seemingly for good. In his Instagram story last evening, the rapper referenced his fame and how much his life has changed over the past six years.

His announcement comes ahead of his highly anticipated second album, Eternal Atake. However, judging by Lil Uzi Vert’s Instagram story, we might not be seeing it anytime soon.

“I wanna take the time out to say I thank each and every one of my supporters but I’m done with music.” Lil Uzi Vert says. “I deleted everything. I wanna be normal… I wanna wake up in 2013. You are free.”

Lil Uzi Vert has yet to clarify his Instagram story and has not announced his departure on other social media platforms.

Eternal Atake did not have a concrete release date. However, according to NME, it was expected to release some time in 2019. Fans had been waiting for the rapper’s sophomore record for over a year.

Of course, this announcement comes as a shock to many followers. Additionally, fans are confused about the announcement’s timeline and how it affects the rapper’s contract. Since last evening, fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts and theories.

Lil Uzi Vert has been known to support scene favorites such as Marilyn Manson. Additionally, Uzi cites Hayley Williams as one of his biggest inspirations and influences.
