Set to Lil Peep's “Downtown,” the touching video montage opens with a haunting soliloquy from the late performer, filmed mid-air while seated on a plane, which shows the emo rapper taking stock of his surging fame.

“You don't expect it to happen,” Lil Peep says in the clip, as reported by Billboard. “You don't get here without working really fucking hard. Once you're here, it's not like you're surprised to be here. Once you're here, you're like, fuck, I've done so much… Like, are you really surprised you're here?”

Lil Peep's friend and collaborator Wiggy has many other videos featuring the rapper on YouTube—check them out here. (After the tribute clip, see our Halloween video with Peep, recently filmed at the AP offices in Cleveland.)

Lil Peep's untimely death at the age of 21 came as a shock to the music community. Presumed an overdose, the musician's brother Oskar recently said the death was accidental: “He was super happy with where he was in life.”
