Linkin Park plan fan-based ‘Hybrid Theory’ 20th anniversary celebration

Linkin Park plan to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hybrid Theory all year long and are asking fans for contributions to help make the events they have planned special.

Hybrid Theory served as the band’s debut release and gave us legendary tracks such as “One Step Closer” and “In The End.”

The LP was late Chester Bennington‘s way of expressing his frustrations and experiences he had growing up and has been certified Platinum eleven times by the Recording Industry Association of America. The group also received a Grammy for their performance of “Crawling” which is one of the few singles from the album.

It later became the best-selling album of 2001 with over 10 million sold worldwide. The record has currently sold over 27 million copies worldwide with “In The End” currently holding over 700 million streams on Spotify.

The album hit the charts in July 2017, which is when late frontman unexpectedly passed away. At that time, many fans took to Twitter to discuss how the album changed their lives.

The album peaked on the charts in December 2002 at number 2 and lived on the list for a total of 230 weeks. Last March, the album re-entered Billboard’s Hot 200 list at 191, which some believed was because of Bennington’s 43rd birthday.

Now, the band are asking for submissions from fans of videos, photos, souvenirs. They specifically want anything from their inception through the Hybrid Theory era.
