Linkin Park have achieved various music milestones throughout the years. Back in July, their “In The End” video surpassed a billion views on YouTube. Linkin Park first accomplished this milestone with the “Numb” video which surpassed one billion views in November 2018.

Their accomplishment with the “In The End” video was not an easy one to reach. Recently, one of the only other rock bands to have videos reach the same milestone is twenty one pilots. Their “Ride” video hit a billion views in July, joining their “Heathens” and “Stressed Out” videos.

Now, Linkin Park are adding another major accomplishment to the band’s career. Their classic album Hybrid Theory has now been certified 12x platinum in the United States. This feat means that the album has sold more than 12 million copies since its release in 2000.

Among those that have purchased a copy of Hybrid Theory over the years is Twilight author Stephenie Meyer. She previously revealed that she heavily listened to Linkin Park while writing the popular book series. Bella Swan and Edward Cullen even bond over Hybrid Theory in Midnight Sun.

Various songs from Hybrid Theory have also earned their own certifications. “In The End” is 4x platinum-certified while “One Step Closer” is platinum-certified. As well, “Papercut” and “Crawling” have both earned gold certifications over the years.

The accomplishment comes at a great time because Linkin Park are gearing up for the 20th anniversary of Hybrid Theory this October.

On Aug. 7, Linkin Park launched an interactive website that is filled with Easter eggs about the 20-year anniversary. After sharing various clues, Linkin Park announced the Hybrid Theory: 20th Anniversary Edition.

Following the announcement of the super deluxe anniversary box set, Linkin Park unveiled “She Couldn’t,” a rare demo from their Hybrid Theory sessions. In 2009, the track first surfaced when a fan discovered a demo CD on eBay. Since then, it has made its way to YouTube through various fan uploads over the years.

The song will appear on Forgotten Demos in the Hybrid Theory: 20th Anniversary Edition super deluxe box set. In August, Mike Shinoda revealed that “She Couldn’t” was one of the first demos recorded with Chester Bennington. As well, Shinoda said that the song’s creation heavily “foreshadowed a future of the band” that spanned years after Hybrid Theory‘s release.
