As pointed out by Theprp.com, Shinoda has been giving an inside look at the in-progress studio version of the new tune via live streams on Instagram. On Tuesday, the musician tweeted that while the “song is at step one,” he “promised to share the progress” with Linkin Park fans.

Shinoda wrote “Looking For An Answer” following the unexpected death of Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington in July. He then performed an early version of the track at the Linkin Park And Friends Celebrate Life In Honor Of Chester Bennington event at the Hollywood Bowl on Oct. 27.

“Grief is a non-linear process,” he recently told Billboard. “It doesn't have 'stages' that go in order, it has phases that come and go at random. Some people are having sad days, others are having good days, others are having angry days… add the constant stress and fear of things like the news cycle, and you've got some exceptional chaos on your hands!”

Linkin Park's new live album, One More Light Live, just dropped Dec. 15. The release features performances from the band's One More Light World Tour 2017—take a look at the album trailer video right here.
