Live Nation, Music Forward offer $10,000 scholarship for music industry students

Live Nation has teamed up with House of Blues’ Music Forward Foundation to offer three scholarships. Incoming college juniors and seniors pursuing a career in the music industry are eligible.

The scholarship program was originally unveiled in 2016. However, the time has come to help a new roster of students.

“Live Nation supports future leaders in pursuit of a career in the music industry,” chief operations officer of Live Nation US Concerts, Mark Campana says in a story with Billboard. “Music Forward helps bridge community to industry and we look forward to this year’s group of candidates and continuing to grow this important philanthropic program.”

Students may only apply for one scholarship.

Additionally, applicants’ field of study must correlate to one of the following: Concert and venue promotion, sponsorship and advertising, ticketing, e-commerce or artist management. Check out all of the guidelines for the scholarships here.

Here is a breakdown of each of the scholarships, according to the Music Forward Foundation’s website:

Live Nation – US Concerts Scholarship

This $10,000 scholarship is open to students interested in the five core areas of the Live Nation business: concert promotion and venue operation, sponsorship and advertising, ticketing, e-commerce and artist management. Finalists for this scholarship will also be considered for an internship opportunity with Live Nation Entertainment.

Steven J. Finkel Service Excellence Scholarship

Established in the memory of Steven J. Finkel, Live Nation’s US Concerts division seeks to support the ever growing customer service expectation within the entertainment industry. The $10,000 scholarship will award students who are passionate about improving the live music customer experience for fans, artists, and employees.

Tiffany Green Operator Scholarship

Established in the memory of Tiffany Green, US Concerts division supports women pursuing careers in live event operations, production and music engineering related fields of study. The $10,000 scholarship will expand the student’s training and professional interactions through participation in educational opportunities.
