Long-lost short film that aired before 'Star Wars Episode V' getting full reboot 35 years later

In 1980, when Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back premiered in Europe and Australia, showings were preceded by a short film, Black Angel. Soon after its debut, the negatives of the film had gotten misplaced. Three years ago, however, it was found and fully restored. Directed by Roger Christian, the George Lucas-sanctioned clip features an epic showdown between the forces of good and evil (as any good mythological-thriller should).

The response to Black Angel has been so overwhelming, Christian decided to launch an Indiegogo campaign in hopes of turning it into a full-length feature, which would star John Rhys-Davies, Rutger Hauer and Laura Weissbecke. As Entertainment Weekly reported, over $30,000 of the $100,000 goal was raised in just the first day.
