Lorde calls out Kanye West, Kid Cudi for stage design
Lorde broke her Instagram silence today to call out Kanye West and Kid Cudi for their stage designs.
The singer claims the rappers copied the idea from her tour earlier this year, and she’s not keeping quiet about it.

On Monday, Nov. 12, Lorde shared pictures of Kanye West and Kid Cudi’s floating “box” stages on her Instagram stories. Alongside the images, the singer also posted some shots of her own stage for the Melodrama Tour earlier this year. “March tour,” she wrote on one of them.
According to the pop star, both rappers stole the design from her own tour stage—and she’s not OK with that.
On the last picture, she wrote a longer caption explaining why she has a problem with how similar the stages are. According to her, being inspired by an artists’ work is one thing, but stealing is a problem.
“I’m proud of the work I do and it’s flattering when other artists feel inspired by it, to the extent that they choose to try it on themselves,” Lorde writes on the picture.
“But don’t steal—not from women or anyone else—not in 2018 or ever,” she continues.
A fan posted screenshots of the singer’s stories on Twitter. You can check the similarities for yourself on her Instagram page or take a look at the pictures below:
