Macaulay Culkin is legally changing his middle name to Macaulay Culkin

Macaulay Culkin recently made headlines after he was once again “home alone,” and while it cemented our childhood nostalgia last week, it seems like Culkin isn’t done making headlines just yet.

According to a weird round of news, Culkin has officially decided to go forth with legally changing his middle name to his actual name, and honestly, we’re a little confused.

As noted by Consequence Of Sound, Culkin has been quite busy this past month, where he apparently began polling fans asking to help him decide what he should legally change his name to in the new year.

Currently, his middle name is Carson, but that just isn’t a name he wants to continue having. So, in order to change it, he decided to make a post on BunnyEars, where he asked fans what his new name should be.

You can read a snippet of his post below:

My middle name is something dumb. Larry? Orange? Honestly, I can’t even remember it. So I asked you all to send in some better options so I can go down to the courthouse and explain to a judge why I need to change my middle name to something cool.

You sent in hundreds of suggestions and after going through them all, these were my favorite five.

This poll is open till Christmas Eve so I can wake up to a wonderful present from everyone. Sure, I might have gold plated watercraft, and chrome plated invisibility cloaks, but all I want for Christmas is a new middle name.

After narrowing it down, Culkin allowed fans to choose from the following names: “Macaulay Culkin,” “Shark Week,” “Kieran,” “TheMcRibIsBack” and “Publicity Stunt.

Those are all pretty interesting middle names, but ultimately, fans decided that they wanted Culkin to have an easy middle name…you know, because Carson isn’t.

So, with that being said, starting in 2019, Macaulay Culkin will legally be known as Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin.

“It has a nice ring to it (if you like my name),” Culkin shared to Twitter…and, we mean, he isn’t wrong?
