Machine Gun Kelly checks into ‘Hotel Diablo’ with first single

The wait is over as Machine Gun Kelly finally dropped the first single from his forthcoming album, Hotel Diablo.

“Hollywood Whore” welcomes fans to the mythical world of his fourth album. The track marks the first release since 2018’s BINGE EP, which housed “LOCO” and the Eminem diss track “Rap Devil.”

MGK teased the track earlier today with imagery of a devil-like creature puppeteering a man, an illustration that was created by Justin Wilson and William Conrady.

It also looks like “Hollywood Whore” is the first of many tracks to debut. The rapper shared “dropping something every week until release day June ** ? #HotelDiablo”

Machine Gun Kelly was supposed to release a new track back in April, but he pushed it to pay respects to late friend and rapper Nipsey Hussle. It’s unclear if it’s the same track, but regardless, it was worth the wait.

“Hollywood Whore” has the rapper tackling pressure and a tumultuous relationship but not taking it without a fight: “And if fate send us both to Heaven/I’ma keep a blade in my leather so I can kill you at the gate.”

You can check out the new track and lyrics below as well as here.

Machine Gun Kelly “Hollywood Whore” Lyrics

Am I wrong for being lost?
The pressures of being boss exhausted
Every bone in my body, I can’t walk
I don’t talk, I scream, I don’t stop to think
I’m so close to the dream that I can’t go to sleep
Ironic, I know, so I need more Chronic to roll
Tryna find what’s more important, the money or my soul
It’s cold, I’m low, I’m caught between the roads
Under the Hollywood sign, you get blinded by the glow, uh

Yo
How could you look me in the face?
You sat at the table with my daughter
Promisin’ you got us right after you finished sayin’ Grace
Why don’t you tell her what you’re hidin’ in the bank?
It’s time to cut my lawn and see the snakes
It’s time to tell the truth to every fan who doesn’t understand
That it’s because of you they had to wait
While you left me here to deal with all the hate, ah

Still smile but feel so fake
It’s no sun, the clouds are opaque
So much shade I read on one page
I can’t even look at your name without gettin’ the shakes
What a mistake uh, look at how you take uh
What doesn’t belong to you, this was a rape
And if fate send us both to Heaven
I’ma keep a blade in my leather so I can kill you at the gate, uh

(First place)
Is it worth it when you see us all?
(Two faced)
Tryna fit in to a world with no
(New space)
Commit third degree murder
(What for?)
Tryna play me like a Hollywood whore
(First place)
Is it worth it when you see us all?
(Two faced)
Tryna fit in to a world with no
(New space)
Commit third degree murder
(What for?)
Tryna play me like a Hollywood whore

I woke up sweatin’, tryna forget I’m in a mansion
‘Cause fans are mad at my expansion
And my friend I thought was family
Who’d always understand me
Got offended, ’cause he jealous
We supposed to be at the Grammys
I’m askin’, when did pride and passion
Get mistakin’ for handouts and ass kissin’?
The fact is I made it from trailer trash to Saks Fifth
Took it from underground to massive, and the come up was classic
Back when white boys rapped, they gettin’ they ass kicked
I was battlin’ puttin’ these rappers in caskets
I was walkin’ home gettin’ jumped after classes
Tell me, why don’t my haters mention that shit?

Now, my rent is due and I’m a tenant gettin’ by with no credit
Got residue from a sedative I ain’t get from the medic
My schedule is so fuckin’ hectic, but still I’m in debt
I’d be better off dead so life insurance keep my family fed
It’s because of y’all, I couldn’t separate from my career
‘Cause of y’all, I hated myself for so many years
‘Cause of you, you ain’t never gonna see me trust
Even if I got a wife, she just somebody I fuck

(First place)
Is it worth it when you see us all?
(Two faced)
Tryna fit in to a world with no
(New space)
Commit third degree murder
(What for?)
Tryna play me like a Hollywood whore
(First place)
Is it worth it when you see us all?
(Two faced)
Tryna fit in to a world with no
(New space)
Commit third degree murder
(What for?)
Tryna play me like a Hollywood whore

More on Machine Gun Kelly

Prior to the announcement of the first song, MGK gave fan’s Hotel Diablo’s general release timeframe in the best way. The rapper took to Instagram to share a studio clip with the caption, “I Shouldn’t have to remind y’all … Hotel Diablo … JUNE??

The clip was later posted to his YouTube channel with the title “Breaking News 2.” MGK released “Breaking News” in 2013 as part of his Black Flag mixtape, and it appears this is a take on the same sentiment.

“Hollywood Whore” and “Breaking News 2” aren’t the first glimpses of new tunes to come out in the Hotel Diablo era. MGK’s producer and friend Brandon “Slimxx” Allen shared a snippet of a mix while driving.

Slimxx posted an Instagram story of the song while he was in the car. MGK can be heard saying, “It’s 5:36-6-6.” According to the display screen of the car, the song is saved as that line, “53666,” but it’s unclear if this is the track’s official name.

The track appears to be the same one MGK teased when announcing Hotel Diablo in April. You can see the latest recording of that below.

Slimxx isn’t the only one of MGK’s BFFs to share a potential new track. Comedian and Saturday Night Live actor Pete Davidson was seen jamming to a track he gets a shoutout in back in April.

“I even got my homie Pete out here like fuck the jokes,” the song goes. Check it out below.

While we’ve heard some snippets, there are also some songs being teased that we haven’t heard—namely some sort of potential collab with YUNGBLUD and Travis Barker.

Machine Gun Kelly has been seen in the studio both musicians, and he finally shared some clarity at the beginning of this month with the blink-182 drummer.

“appreciation post for one of the baddest motherfuckers/mentors @travisbarker. wait until ya’ll hear this song. @yungblud.”

He also shared a snippet of the track earlier that day that may or may not feature YUNGBLUD, and only time will tell.
