Netflix‘s latest film to hit the streaming service Bird Box has been met with some high praise, and now one of its stars, rapper Machine Gun Kelly, has taken to the internet to reflect on it. While it’s got a lot going for it, MGK wants fans to know just how important the film is for its deeper meanings. Taking to Twitter earlier this evening, the rapper shared with his followers what his first reaction was to the film’s script.

In the tweet, Machine Gun Kelly reflected on what his first thoughts were when he read the script, and he’s shared that it seemed to have a much deeper meaning the further you dove into it.

“[W]hen [I] read the script [I] remember thinking ‘Birdbox‘ was a metaphor for what’s goin on in the real world,” MGK shares. “And it really is. Don’t take off ur ‘blindfold’ and become like all the ugliness around us. it’ll kill u. stay focused on your own shit.”

It’s an interesting perspective of the horror/thriller, and it’s one that we’ll have to re-think about when watching the film.

As it was previously noted, the film takes place in a post-apocalyptic environment, with the synopsis reading:
