Watch Machine Gun Kelly freestyle lines by the Used, Post Malone, more

Machine Gun Kelly has been a master of lyricism through his rapid-fire bars but Elle put his word association skills to the test in a video where he plays their Song Association game.

Basically, they feed him a word and he needs to sing lyrics to a song from another artist containing the word leading him to lyrics from the Used, Limp Bizkit, Post MaloneCarly Rae Jepsen and more.

In the video challenge, Machine Gun Kelly starts off with the word “call” and jumps to Canadian pop idol Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe.” He may have messed the lyrics up a bit, but he was able to pick up on the game quickly.

When offered the word “take” he jumps to an emo classic with the Used’s “Take It Away.”

Throughout the video, he picks a few easy tracks written by himself including “I Think I’m OKAY” featuring YUNGBLUD and Travis Barker as well as his Trippie Redd featuring “Candy.”

Given the word “break,” he jumps straight to an obvious choice with Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff.”

The word “better” draws up a Post Malone reference while he also riffs through songs by 50 Cent, Johnny Cash and plenty of others. He also takes breaks between certain songs to discuss his songwriting and how it is evolving.

Elsewhere, Machine Gun Kelly has been keeping himself busy during the coronavirus pandemic.

He ended up dropping a new track titled “Bullets With Names” featuring Young Thug, RJMrLA and Lil Duke. Shortly after, he also released an official video for the song.

Then, he joined YUNGBLUD‘s “Shit’s Weird Keep Calm and Carry On” show along with Bella Thorne and Oliver Tree. The livestream show was a way for YUNGBLUD to connect with fans following concert cancellations and events and travel bans due to the virus. So far, YUNGBLUD has had to cancel shows in ten different countries.

The livestream saw YUNGBLUD perform a set and do a Q&A segment after Tree gave a brief cooking lesson and MGK and Thorne played a drinking game.

Later in the day, MGK got up to some riffing of his own sharing a short but sweet cover of a Paramore classic in “Misery Business.”

He’s been doing daily videos playing riffs from some of his favorite tracks. That’s included covers of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Californication,” Nirvana‘s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and Juice WRLD‘s “Lucid Dreams” among others.

Even better than all of that, he ended up offering fans a taste of a new track during a livestream this week. You can see that below.
