The ‘Maleficent’ sequel is headed to theaters extremely soon

Hold onto your horns—a Maleficent sequel is headed to theaters way sooner than we previously thought.

Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil was confirmed previously by Disney. In September 2017, Angelina Jolie confirmed she’d be returning as the titular villain.

Now, the film has moved the release date to even sooner. Previously, the film was set to hit theaters May 29, 2020. However, we can go see it starting October 18 of this year.

The film’s social media pages made the announcement and posted a seriously sinister new poster of Jolie as one of our favorite villains.

In addition, Elle Fanning will return to the sequel as Aurora.

Also, Maleficent originally hit theaters in May of 2014, and grossed a box office total of over $758 million on a $180 million budget. If you haven’t seen the first film yet, watch a trailer for it below:
