Manchester Orchestra, Foo Fighters, 30 Seconds To Mars among 2011 VMA nominees

MTV has released the ballots for the 2011 Video Music Awards, set to air live from Los Angeles, on Aug. 28 at 9 p.m. EST. In between the slew of nominations for megastars like Katy Perry and Bruno Mars, some notable nods to the AP universe snuck in:

  • 30 Seconds To Mars' “Hurricane” (Best Cinematography, Best Direction, Best Editing)
  • Beastie Boys' “Make Some Noise” (Video Of The Year, Best Direction)
  • The Black Keys' “Howlin' For You” (Best Rock Video)
  • Cage The Elephant's “Shake Me Down” (Best Rock Video)
  • Death Cab For Cutie's “You Are A Tourist” (Best Art Direction)
  • Foo Fighters' “Walk” (Best Rock Video)
  • Foster The People's “Pumped Up Kicks” (Best Rock Video, Best New Artist)
  • Manchester Orchestra's “Simple Math (Best Editing, Best Special Effects)
  • Mumford & Sons' “The Cave” (Best Rock Video)
