Mark Hoppus, Alex Gaskarth surprise drop song from new project

Talk about a supergroup dream come true—blink-182’s Mark Hoppus and All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth set the internet ablaze with news of a new project, Simple Creatures, and a new song, “Drugs.”

The announcement follows All Time Low revealing they’re taking “a bit of a break” in 2019 and Hoppus spilling the beans of a new unnamed project at at iHeartRadio‘s ALTer EGO this past weekend.

The duo each took to their personal accounts to announce the new venture.

“Hey everybody! You might be wondering just what in the hell is going on with my socials right now,” Gaskarth writes. “Well, my good friend @markhoppus and I have been quietly making music together for a little while now and we’re finally ready to share it with ya. We’re calling this baby @simplecreatures and we’d like to invite you to join us for the ride. Our first song “Drug” will officially be out everywhere you can hear music when the clock hits midnight your local time. Go check out SIMPLECREATURESMUSIC DOT COM to hear it right fahkin’ now tho !! #simplecreatures”

Hoppus echoed the sentiment and revealed an EP will be coming sooner than we think:

“So stoked to finally share @simplecreatures with the world!” he writes. “Alex and I have been working on this new band for a while, and our first single ‘Drug’ is available everywhere Thursday midnight, but you can hear it at SimpleCreaturesMusic dot com right now. EP1 coming in March! Join us, won’t you?”

Join you, we certainly will. Once at the band’s new site, it reads, “Hi. We are Simple Creatures. We just woke up from a very long sleep. We have so much to tell you, but for the moment, all we can say is that we are glad you are here. We made music for you …It is Drug.”

This isn’t the first time the duo have worked together with Hoppus appearing on “Tidal Waves” from All Time Low’s 2015 full-length Future Hearts.
