Mark Hoppus revives infamous cheese sandwich for witty Fyre Festival joke

Last night, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) debuted their professional wrestling event, Fyter Fest. The name of the event acted as a parody to the ill-fated Fyre Festival, a joke opportunity scene dad Mark Hoppus simply had to take advantage of.

Fyter Fest marked the second event hosted under the AEW banner, taking place June 29 in Daytona Beach, Florida. There were nine matches in total, including three on the buy-in pre-show.

The event’s name mocked the festival disaster turned documentary, Fyre Festival, pretty much begging Hoppus to crack some kind of a joke in regards to the parody.

If you recall, blink-182 were scheduled to play Fyre Festival, but canceled both their performances for logistical issues. At the time, the band said they weren’t confident they’d have adequate resources to provide fans with a quality show.

Now, two years later, Hoppus did not disappoint, taking to Twitter to share the infamously less than desirable looking meal along with some hilarious social text.

“Yo @KennyOmegamanX the check didn’t clear and catering was ill so we had to bounce. Next time!!”

Wrestler and AEW Vice President Kenny Omega retweeted the post along with a promise to fix this issue for next time.

Fans were elated to see their worlds colliding.
