Hoppus has a history of taking credit for band reunions. Earlier this year, when the Jonas Brothers made their long-awaited return, Hoppus said you could thank him.
The Simple Creatures musician said it all started when he wondered the other day what ever happened to the Jonas Brothers.
“Made a few calls, yada yada, here we are. You’re welcome, people,” his tweet reads, insinuating that he’s the reason the Disney trio is back.
Then, Hoppus began to make some promises that got a bit more personal.
“I’m calling Gerard next. I got a feeling that in 2019-2020 I can make this one happen as well. Same with your divorced parents. Hit me up,” the tweet continues.

Of course, My Chemical Romance fans went nuts over the tweet, either laughing at the joke or crying at their misery. Now, Hoppus is back to break their hearts yet again.
Monday, Motion City Soundtrack announced a 2020 tour. In the official announcement, they had a simple message for fans: “Don’t Call It A Comeback.”

Hoppus saw it, and took credit yet again for the comeback that’s not really a comeback. Then, he promised MCR was next.
You’re welcome. I got MCS, now just a little more work on MCR. https://t.co/kOxACHxSkZ

Of course, fans had a lot to say in the replies. You can check those out below.
MCR is more important than MCS, work harder

I knew you were able to accomplish this task. You level up your game. MCR is the final boss.

The savior of punk pop right here

I bet Mark was actually told by Gerard that it was 100% happening ages ago but they don’t know exactly know when yet, so Mark’s just fucking with us so he can say it was him all along
— Jakx (@Jakx___) June 17, 2019
While he’s probably joking, we can’t help but hope there is a sliver of truth to his tweet.
The Motion City Soundtrack announcement comes after the band teased fans last week on Twitter with the date “12.31.19” as the caption.
