Mark Hoppus shares what new Blink-182 music will sound like
Blink-182‘s Mark Hoppus recently chatted with Zane Lowe about drummer Travis Barker‘s health and what new Blink-182 music sounds like so far.

Last week, the band announced they had been forced to postpone some dates of their ‘Kings of the Weekend’ Las Vegas residency shows this weekend due to a medical emergency with Barker.

Hoppus explained the band are still working to reschedule the dates they canceled due to Barker’s condition.
“Travis has blood clots in his arms right now, so we’ve had to cancel last weekend and the next weekend and we’re going to reschedule those. But I don’t know what the prognosis or the treatment is yet,” he shared. “I know that Travis is in and out of the doctors this week so hopefully we’ll have some resolution with that.”
The bassist added Blink-182 plans to figure out when they can play again because the residency has been “super fun.”
“We have a lot of pyro on the stage and it’s been really fun. The Palms has totally redone their whole hotel and it’s cool,” he told Lowe. “To be the first kind of rock band to have a residency out there was really cool and different and it’s been a lot of fun.”
Hoppus also revealed the band are “well into the writing of the next record,” and, even though it might change over time, he gave some hints about what the upcoming Blink-182 record might sound like.
“Right now it’s really aggressive and really catchy and dark and weird,” the musician revealed.
“If you take California and compare it to Enema of the State, I would say that what we’re writing now is more in line with Take off Your Pants and Jacket and the Untitled record.”
