Mark Hoppus settles blink-182 discography debate in ‘NINE’ explanation
Mark Hoppus of blink-182 has taken to Reddit to explain the meaning behind the title for the band’s upcoming album Nine.
Yesterday, the band teased a new track “Darkside” that they dropped earlier today just hours after unveiling the tracklist and cover.

To backtrack, on Wednesday, blink began teasing the track with a hotline appearing on their socials. When dialed, a 15-second clip of the new track plays.
The song follows the release of previous singles “Blame It On My Youth” “Generational Divide” and “Happy Days,” all of which will appear on their much-teased new album.
The band finally confirmed the release date on Good Morning America last Friday. As if that wasn’t exciting enough, they shared the album cover, title and tracklist.

Now, Hoppus has taken to Reddit to give some context to the name.
“NINE. this is our ninth album, as decided by me and travis,” he began. “some count buddha, some not. some count the mark tom and travis show. some count greatest hits. some count dogs eating dogs. i’m counting buddha, cheshire cat, dude ranch, enema of the state, toypaj, untitled, neighborhoods, califronia, and now NINE.”
“nine is also the number of universal love. and the number of uranus. remember to like and smash that subscribe button, or whatever it is the kids say now,” he continued.
