Marshmello gets “Tongue Tied” with YUNGBLUD, blackbear in collab video

We’ve been anticipating the release of this Marshmello track featuring YUNGBLUD and blackbear since first learning of its existence on Halloween.

Now, the day has finally come, and the trio are premiering “Tongue Tied” with epic new visuals.

Nearly two weeks ago, blackbear stopped by Capital FM to chat about what he had on the horizon through the end of the year. During the interview, the musician revealed the new collab would be out before we all celebrate the new year.

“I have a song with Marshmello and YUNGBLUD coming. Before the year’s over yeah,” blackbear told the radio station. “That’s probably the next thing coming and then yeah there’s a couple more.”

While blackbear works predominantly in hip-hop and Marshmello in EDM, both artists have had their fair share of crossovers.

This fall, blackbear joined nothing, nowhere. and blink-182 drummer Travis Barker for one song, “BACK2YOU,” on the duo’s BLOODLUST EP. Marshmello also collabed with pop-punk heavyweights A Day To Remember on “Rescue Me” back in June.

As for YUNGBLUD, the genre-bending musician has worked with Barker and Machine Gun Kelly (“I Think I‘m OKAY”), Halsey (“11 Minutes”), Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons (“original me”) and more just this year.

More on YUNGBLUD

On Halloween, the same day blackbear teased this epic matchup, YUNGBLUD unveiled the video for “Die A Little.”

Fans had been anxiously awaiting the music video since the track made its debut on the season 3 soundtrack for 13 Reasons Why in August.

This isn’t the first time the singer has appeared on a soundtrack for 13 Reasons Why. Last summer, ahead of his debut full-length 21st Century Liability, he teamed up with Charlotte Lawrence on “Falling Skies” for the season 2 release.

“This song is about realizing and accepting the dark part of your mind that is trying to get out,” YUNGBLUD said of the new song. “People who don’t understand what you are going through will try to interfere and generalize what you’re feeling. That can end up with them getting as hurt as you. This video is a call out to take mental health seriously.”
