Now, it looks there are a few possible reasons why the #MarvelIsOverParty hashtag began trending.

It was recently announced that Marvel is pairing with Fortnite for its new release. If you buy the game’s new Battle Pass, you’ll be able to unlock iconic character skins such as Iron Man, Storm, Doctor Doom, Groot, Mystique and She-Hulk.

This latest partnership has definitely earned some backlash from Marvel fans.

The other reason for the trending hashtag could have to do with Black Widow. The highly-awaited film has been postponed various times due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now, it is being speculated that the film won’t hit theaters at all. Instead, just like Disney‘s live-action Mulan, Black Widow could head directly to Disney+, skipping a theatrical release altogether.

This rumor, along with the fact that no trailer has been released yet, has definitely caused some Black Widow fans to tweet their thoughts.

A lot of fans think Marvel has dropped the ball in terms of rolling out content for its upcoming films. This is especially true since DC is rolling out trailers for films that won’t be released for a year or two including Matt ReevesThe Batman starring Robert Pattinson.
