Disney Studios co-chairman Alan Horn explains Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy “is pursuing a new era in ‘Star Wars’ storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a ‘Star Wars’ film together.”

Sources say Feige had a late summer meeting with Kennedy, Horn and Alan Bergman to discuss the idea of leaping into the Star Wars universe.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker set to hit theaters Dec. 20. So it should come as little to no surprise that details regarding the future of the franchise are being kept under wraps.

During D23, Disney debuted a new teaser trailer for the film. During the trailer, we were given a glimpse at what looks like Rey joining the dark side.

You can check out that footage below.

More on Star Wars

More Star Wars news surfaced from D23 as Disney unveiled an all-new, interactive vacation experience set aboard the star cruiser Halcyon.

“Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will be a new, first-of-its-kind vacation experience where guests will check-in for a two-night adventure aboard a glamorous starship.” The Disney Parks website reads.

“Once onboard, guests will interact with characters and become active participants in stories that unfold around them on their galactic journey.”

While this isn’t much information, we can’t help but breathe a little heavier. You can definitely count us in when this opens. We hope they bring Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes as entertainment.
