Matty Healy was gifted Shawn Mendes' "iconic underpants"

Everyone loves getting mail, and apparently Matty Healy of the 1975 got a very interesting package from pop star Shawn Mendes.

Healy apparently received some underwear from Mendes. This sounds random, but we can actually explain.

To take it back, Healy requested on Twitter that Mendes send him those “iconic underpants.”

He was referring to Mendes’ Calvin Klein photoshoot, which you can see for reference below.

It turns out, Mendes actually did send the real underwear to the musician. They were tied with a gold ribbon and had a “Certificate of Authenticity” to go along with it. Healy tweeted the photo, to which Mendes replied “100 % authentic !”

We can’t say we ever saw this coming, but we can’t say we hate it.

Other 1975 news

The 1975 had a rough time last week when they had to cancel a show after getting stuck on the highway in a snowstorm. They are currently on tour to promote their most recent album,  A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships.

Recently, the band stopped by the Late Late Show with James Corden to do a performance featuring Matty Healy doing the running man. They also talked about the album and the inspiration behind it.

“I think it’s one of the records of the year,” Corden said about the group’s most recent album. “There’s such a diverse sound in it. Just when you feel like you know what the record is, it becomes something else.”

“I like what you said it has a kind of metamorphosis in it,” Healy responded. “I just want people to have the same sense of freedom that the record has.”

They also talked about having a treadmill on stage during their Coachella performance.

“I think the treadmill thing was my idea because of this very famous Jamiroquai video,” Healy said.

Of course, he’s referring to the “Virtual Insanity” video, which you can see below.

The band also performed “It’s Not Living (If It’s Not With You)” and Healy even did the running man onstage alongside his background dancers. The entire thing was extremely entertaining to watch. You can check that out below.

Also, Healy recently made us have a revelation about one of the band’s cover artwork that seriously shocked us.
