The 1975's Matty Healy teases possible new song title

Matty Healy can't stop teasing the 1975 fans—and we aren't complaining. After hinting towards what turned out to be a live album, Healy is now sharing an update on their third LP, Music For Cars.

In a new photo shared to Twitter, Healy showed a possible track title: “I Always Wanna Die, Sometimes.”

Is that a track title or just an unbelievably relatable quote? We're not sure. But, the photo gives us another hint towards their new record: The playlist, properly titled Music For Cars, is currently one hour and eight minutes long. Their last album, I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It, was one hour and 14 minutes long. Is this how long we can expect the record to be?

Could be likely. Check out the photo below:

With the release of DH00278, that also makes us wonder what the DH00280 stands for in Healy's Twitter bio. Since they are Dirty Hit catalog numbers, does that mean the 1975's full-length will be released sooner than expected?

We'll leave you to theorize that one.

Yesterday, the band surprise released their new live album DH00278, but we knew something had to be coming. In a tweet earlier this week, Healy shared an ambiguous black image with text that reads: “DH00278”

The band officially announced their third album back in April, but even that caused confusion for fansMusic For Cars is the same title as the band's third EP, which was released in March 2013 and featured “Anobrain,” “Chocolate,” “HNSCC,” “Head.Cars.Bending” and “Me,” but it only made sense to make it an album title too, as Healy explains.

“We’re using it as the album title now because of how meta and self-referential everything has become in the world of The 1975, and Music For Cars was always my favorite title of everything we’d ever done, so it kinda made sense to wrap it up that way,” Healy said of the title.

And back in October, without a proper announcement, the band released what one might assume to be a new song, “Milk,” which fans know is not a new song—but a remastered version of the track that has been hidden in their song “You.”

So does this mean the band will be continuing to share these blasts from the past with their newest record? We’re not sure. But then, the band shook everything up and teased the ultimate news: A new EP, with new music that's supposed to be released before the end of 2017… There's still time, of course!

Healy has said previously that this record will be the end of an era for the band: “It’s always been called that and we were always going to do a trilogy of records. I’m not saying that after this record it’s the end of The 1975 but it’s definitely the end of an era.”

So what does this all mean? We're not totally sure. There's a lot happening, and whatever the 1975 have coming, we’re ready for the ride. Healy previously discussed the return of Drive Like I Do, with a record set for release “during spring time in the coming few years.”

The band’s second album, I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It, dropped in February 2016.
