McDonald's worker helping handicapped man eat meal just gets it

Recently, a Facebook user shared the following story of a Chicago-based McDonald’s worker helping a disabled man eat his meal. The post, which was accompanied by the picture you see below, has since gone viral, generating over 400,000 Facebook shares.

According to the photo’s caption, the elderly handicapped man wheeled himself to the cash register and asked for help cutting and eating his meal. In response, the cashier closed his station, disappeared for a moment to wash his hands and put on fresh gloves, and then returned to aid the man in eating his meal.

It can be difficult to find instances of compassion such as this in the world today. While this has received an incredible amount of attention, this writer hopes you’re encouraged to execute your own acts of kindness, regardless if you receive recognition for them. As the age-old adage goes: Be the change you want to see.
