There’s no denying that this year has shed a much-needed light on the mental health struggles people within the music industry face, and Help Musicians UK launched “Music Minds Matter” in an effort to make a difference.
“Music Minds Matter” understands the “complexity of working in music” and are providing support that directly reflects the unique challenges those in the industry can face.
The need for “Music Minds Matter” was in response to a study conducted last year, with 71.1 percent of music industry respondents saying they believe they had experienced panic attacks and/or high levels of anxiety and 68.5 percent reporting they had experienced depression.
And a staggering 55 percent felt there were gaps in the provision of services for musicians. Help Musicians UK explain that there is no cap or limit as to how many times you can get in touch with Music Minds Matter, and a trained advisor is available to speak with you.
We’re proud to announce the launch of Music Minds Matter, our 24/7 mental health support line and service for the music industry. If you need someone to talk to or need ongoing support, call 0808 802 8008 for free #MusicMindsMatter https://t.co/T3AIsKq8iJ pic.twitter.com/33LQknhTBL
