The band is holding a contest called Hit The Stage that lets local bands win a chance to open for the legends at five upcoming dates.

About the contest, the band says: “This summer the WorldWired tour hits the road in North America to play in your local stadium, and as most of you know we’ve invited along additional bands including special guests Avenged Sevenfold and openers Volbeat or Gojira to join us. However, as a few of you may have noticed, there are a handful of cities (five to be exact!) where only one band from our tour-mates is able to join us. Since we’ve had so much fun checking out local bands in other parts of the world (Central/South America, Copenhagen and Mexico City), it only seems natural to invite all of you to once again voice your opinion and help us choose a band with a click of your mouse. This time around, the group receiving the most fan votes will hit the stage first on their own five-city tour!”

Dates:

May 19 – Foxborough, MA – Gillette Stadium (also with Volbeat)

June 4 – St. Louis, MO – Busch Stadium (also with Volbeat)

June 14 – San Antonio, TX – Alamodome (also with Avenged Sevenfold)

June 16 – Dallas, TX – AT&T Stadium (also with Avenged Sevenfold)

June 18 – Chicago, IL – Soldier Field (also with Avenged Sevenfold)

There is a two-part voting phase, the first partners with local radio stations. To get all the details and enter your band, click here.
