Metallica's Lars Ulrich reads Christmas story written by members of McFly

It's the holiday season and while you may be reading The Night Before Christmas, Metallica's Lars Ulrich read a different kind of story with The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas for BBC Radio 2.

The Dinosuar That Pooped Christmas was written by McFly's Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter.

Amazon describes the story as a “rip-ROARing romp of a Christmas story features a boy, one very hungry dinosaur and lots of POO!” The book was published in 2014.

In an interview with the BBC, Fletcher remarked “I think it's easy to see that this book comes from Dougie's fascination with dinosaurs, my love for Christmas and a shared obsession with poop.”

This isn't the first time Metallica is connecting with their fans in a more unique way. Earlier in the week, the band did an impromptu performance of “Enter Sandman” in a grocery store, along with performing that same song with children's instruments with The Roots on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in November.
