Posner suffered a rattlesnake bite during his journey through Colorado today. According to TMZ, Posner had already completed a 16-mile walk with a hopeful eight more to go for the day before the baby snake unexpectedly bit him.

Posner offered an update on Instagram earlier today, assuring fans of his health and well being. He also vowed to continue his walk once he’s back on his feet in a few weeks.

“Whatup doe!!! Crazy day yesterday! I had just crushed 16 miles and was going for 8 more when I got bit by a baby rattlesnake! ? That venom is no joke! I got to the hospital and got the anti-venom in time. Shout outs to G and Mike from the chopper team ? and Bo and Cassie and Whitney (my nurses). I’ll be here a few days and will not be able to walk for several weeks but enjoying the AC and the nice bed, haven’t had those in a while Hahahaha! Can’t wait to get back on The Walk! KEEP GOING!!!!!!,” the caption reads.

The Warped Tour alum kicked off his nationwide journey April 15  in Asbury Park, New Jersey. His goal is to continue across the country until he reaches Venice Beach, California.

Using his Instagram to document his walk, Posner has been sharing updates with fans and friends, inviting them to walk with him on his adventure.

Drew Binsky met up with Posner earlier this month to find out exactly what inspired him to take this long walk across America.

“It was something that I put off for a long time,” Posner explains. “I wanted to do it for five years and it wasn’t really until after my dad died, and really when my friend Avicii died that I knew… My life is now, one day I’m gonna die too. And everyone wants you to forget you’re gonna die, cuz if you forget you’re gonna die then you’ll waste your life working for their company, spending money on what they’re selling.”

Posner has also celebrated crossing each state line with a new single. You can check out his latest track commemorating his arrival to Colorado below.
