Shinoda shared the concert announcement on Instagram Wednesday—see his post below. The two-day Summer Sonic 2018 takes place Aug. 18 and 19 at ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe in Tokyo, Japan, and Maishima Sonic Park in Osaka, Japan. Get more information here.

The upcoming festival gig accompanies Shinoda's new solo EP, Post Traumatic, a three-song collection he describes as “not Linkin Park nor Fort Minor [Shinoda's periodic hip-hop side project], it's just me.” Post Traumatic is Shinoda's first studio release following the band's seventh album, One More Light, and the unexpected death of Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington last year. In December, the group released One More Light Live, a full-length featuring concert recordings from the band's One More Light World Tour 2017.

“Art has always been the place I go when I need to sort through the complexity and confusion of the road ahead,” Shinoda says of Post Traumatic. “I don't know where this path goes, but I'm grateful I get to share it with you.”
