Mikey Way and wife Kristin welcome second child

Mikey Way took to Instagram to share the wonderful news that he and his wife Kristin Colby Way welcomed a new baby girl.

The latest addition joins their 2-year-old daughter, Rowan Louise Way.

The couple tied the knot in April 2016 and welcomed Rowan in May 2017.

Mikey announced they were expecting their second child in December with a precious family photo. With it, he wrote, “Life is about to get a little more interesting! #doubletrouble.”

Today, Mikey followed up the announcement with the news that their daughter arrived a few days ago.

“It is with great honor that I introduce to you, the newest member of our family- Ms. Kennedy James Way! Only a few days old, and already she has stolen my heart”

Kristin echoed the sentiment on her own page, writing, “Our second princess joined the family this week! Everyone meet miss Kennedy James Way!! ??‍?‍?‍? I never knew my heart could be so full, motherhood is amazing!!”

In other heart-tugging news, Mikey recently gifted Rowan her first guitar.

A few weeks ago, he shared the adorable post about his daughter receiving the instrument. On Instagram, he posted a photo of his daughter’s two new guitars, which she got because she loves watching her dad play.

“So whenever I play guitar around her, Rowan becomes electrified. She wants her very own pick and wants to strum the strings,” Mikey wrote in the post.

“My good buddy @mschulz83 and the fine folks @fender decided she should have guitars of her very own. She’s starting out on the Ukulele, and when the time is right she’s moving on up the pink Stratocaster. Proud moment for me!”

In other news, Mikey recently revealed he was releasing a comic on his brother Gerard Way’s DC imprint.

The news arrives following the resurgence of Young Animal, a DC Comics imprint that Gerard helped establish. Following a hiatus about a year ago, Mikey’s comic titled Collapser will be one of the first to mark the return of the trade name.

DC tweeted an announcement of the return, giving a sneak peek at the new series we can expect from the revitalized brand. In addition to Mikey’s Collapser, the imprint will also release Far Sector and Gerard’s Doom Patrol: Weight Of The Worlds.

Collapser drops July 17, and shortly after, Mikey revealed Collapser #2 will drop in August. You can get more information here.
