Mikey Way offers hope to fans for My Chemical Romance’s reunion

Mikey Way eased the minds of My Chemical Romance fans sharing that live music is merely “on pause” in a BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat interview.

After announcing their glorious return, MCR only had the chance to play one show to a lucky couple thousand of fans at the Shrine in Los Angeles. Undoubtedly, fans were crushed when much of the global reunion tour had to be postponed due to coronavirus.

Way sympathizes with everyone during this time saying, “Whether you’re in a band, you’re a director, you work a retail job, you’re a gardener – you had a plan, and now it’s been disrupted.”

Beyond this, he shared that live music isn’t going anywhere. It has to be paused for the safety of bands and fans alike.

“I feel like people are waiting with bated breath. It’s a light at the end of the tunnel and I think there’s something really cool about that,” he said in the interview.

Fortunately, he offered hope saying, “I know fans have been waiting a long time, but it’ll all still be here when this is all over.”

As of now, My Chemical romance has rescheduled dates for 2021 for their European tour.
