Award-winning music documentary Mind Over Matter tells the story of Brandon Mendenhall, who was born with cerebral palsy, a neurological condition that affects movement, coordination and balance. Dreaming of forming a band, despite being told he could never play an instrument, Mendenhall worked to rehabilitate his hand's movements and, with the help of members of Korn, he founded the Mendenhall Experiment in 2008.

Since then, the band has shared the stage with bands such as Suicide Silence, POD, Prong, and more. Check out the documentary's trailer below.

“Him learning to do more than just what the doctor said is incredible,” Korn's James “Munky” Shaffer says.

The documentary is directed by French filmmaker Sébastien Paquet, known for the short movie Korn And The Prodigy Son, about the 12-year-old son of Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo.

Mind Over Matter is set to premiere in New York during the 10th Annual ReelAbilities Film Festival, which takes place March 10-14, during National Disability Awareness Month.

The documentary will have five screenings over the week, some including Q&A's with Mendenhall, Paquet and even Shaffer via Skype. You can find more information about dates and times here.
