Morrissey might not be confirmed for Riot Fest after all

The Chicago Riot Fest lineup was announced last week and includes the Misfits (original lineup), Brand New, Rob Zombie, Deftones and Jimmy Eat World. However, even though he was announced as one of the festival's biggest headliners, Morrissey might not be confirmed for Riot Fest after all.

According to Consequence of Sound, a new post reads “As of this date (May 23), Morrissey is not a part of this year’s Chicago Riot Fest” on the “unofficial official Morrissey website True To You.” Was there a miscommunication between the festival and the Smiths frontman? Consequence of Sound has reached out to the festival for comment, but hasn't heard back yet.

Riot Fest and Carnival in Chicago is slated to take place September 16 – 18 in Douglas Park (with or without Morrissey). Tickets are available now.
