Morrissey postpones Atlantic City performance, apparently parts with opener Kristeen Young

And he was doing so well.

Health problems have forced famed singer Morrissey to postpone his planned June 6 show in Atlantic City, N.J., after flat-out cancelling in Atlanta yesterday for the fourth time in a span of 18 months.

While the former Smiths frontman's tour plans were derailed throughout 2012 and 2013 due to a series of unfortunate health incidents, his 2014 comeback, has, until now, gone off without a hitch. Atlantic City's Revel Ovation Hall show will now take place June 22, concluding his U.S. run, and all previously purchased tickets will be honored. Atlanta, however, will not be so lucky; no makeup date has been planned.

According to the singer's Facebook page, the tour is expected to “resume as originally scheduled, without question, at the Boston Opera House on Saturday, June 7.”

It also appears that opener Kristeen Young may no longer be a part of the tour, though her comments regarding the matter have apparently been deleted. While it was previously reported that she caught the same virus as Morrissey and crew, she denied this on Twitter. She then posted this message Facebook:

“We won’t be continuing as opening band for the Morrissey tour. Thanks to all who showed up early and gave us such life-sustaining enthusiasm. Thanks to Morrissey for his years of support and generosity. There are lots of plans and lots of possibilities and we can’t wait to tear into them.”

Young was booted from a Morrissey tour once before in 2007, but has supported the singer on many runs since. No official explanation has yet been issued regarding the nature of her departure this time around.

As of now, these are the remaining dates in Moz's run, presumably without Kristeen Young:

June 7 – Boston Opera House – Boston, MA
June 10 – Meyerhoff Symphony Hall – Baltimore, MD
June 11 – Lincoln Theatre – Washington, DC
June 13 – Civic Opera House – Chicago, IL
June 14 – James Whiting Auditorium – Flint, MI
June 16 – Artpark Main Stage Theater – Lewiston, NY
June 17 – Grand Opera House – Wilmington, DE
June 19 – Hershey Theatre – Hershey, PA
June 21 – Barclays Center Arena – New York, NY
June 22 – Revel Ovation Hall – Atlantic City, NJ

Morrissey will release his tenth full-length, World Peace Is None Of Your Business, July 15 via Harvest Records. You can check out his latest single, “Earth Is The Loneliest Planet,” below.
