Motionless In White vocalist Chris Motionless recently sat with AntiHero Magazine, where he shared that the band are currently working on the follow-up to 2017’s Graveyard Shift.

“We’ve been working pretty much all year, actually,” he shared. “We tried to write on the Warped Tour, and it’s impossible. I was, like, ‘Oh, man, I’m gonna go out there and I’m gonna spend a certain amount of hours every day working on music, and I haven’t really been able to do much, ’cause it’s just so much every day. By the time your day is over, you’re just wanting to chill and hang out and whatnot.

He went on to say:

“We are about halfway through the writing process. After this tour, we’re gonna get right back into it and head into the studio as soon as possible. We wanna get at it quickly instead of just kind of sitting back, waiting for the cycle to end, as it usually does.”

When asked about switching their musical direction on their forthcoming fifth album, Chris shared that they will be keeping that new, experimental, sound that came with their last release.

“If you go to our Spotify, every single song in our Top 10, except for ‘Reincarnate,’ is all off the new album, and it’s been out for a year and a half,” he told the publication.

“So that’s just a great indicator. That’s ways that we like to get to reinterpret the information and the data on what’s happening and get to see what the fans like as well. And to see that they back the newest thing that we’ve done just makes us want to continue in that direction. We’ll have a few — I don’t wanna say ‘experimental,’ but more risk takers on the album. We’ll definitely push in some different directions that we haven’t before, but I think it’ll be centralized around the sounds that you can find on our most recent album.”

We’re beyond stoked for MIW’s new released, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for their follow-up to their fourth album, 2017’s Graveyard Shift.
