Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars responds to free ticket promise
Motley Crue announced they are backing out of their contract to cease touring and many fans remembered guitarist Mick Mars making comments about promising fans free tickets if they ever reunited and he’s now released a statement about it.
The guitarist called his comment a “joke” and explained he never imagined a new generation of fans to emerge for the band who want to see them live.

The guitarist made a post on his Instagram account where he backs out of his “promise” to gift tickets to fans if they ever reunited and explained his reasoning behind making the statement in the first place.
He originally showed up on That Metal Show in 2014 where he said if a reunion ever happened he “will invite the world to come for free.”

“While I was clearly joking about the free tickets that night on TMS, I was also deeply convinced that we would never ever be touring again,” the guitarist wrote. “I would never have expected to be facing a whole new generation of fans demanding to see us play.”
Mars further says the tour “comes at a weird place in time,” with his solo record nearing completion. “Anyways, I am eating a lot of crow and humble pie this Thanksgiving for those remarks and accept that some of you see this as me being dishonest. I said what I said and I was wrong. Peace.”

Motley Crue are rumored to be setting up a tour with Def Leppard and Poison in 2020. No official announcement has been made yet but keep your eyes peeled for tour dates.
