Mötley Crüe’s summer tour dates with Def Leppard are postponed

Following plenty of speculation and rumors, Mötley Crüe‘s tour with Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett And The Blackhearts is postponed until 2021. The epic run of shows was set to kick off later this month.

As it stands, the new dates are being rescheduled for next summer and all tickets will remains valid.

Back in November the band announced the destruction of their previous cessation of touring agreement in a YouTube video with narrator Machine Gun Kelly who played drummer Tommy Lee in Netflix biopic The Dirt.

The band haven’t taken the stage together since Dec. 31, 2015. It was the last date of their 158-show Final tour in Los Angeles, CA.  They signed a “cessation of touring” agreement before their Farewell tour began, which meant that no member could perform following that tour under the Mötley Crüe name.

Mötley Crüe confirmed tour rumors back in December. No one thought they would ever be able to see the band play together again.

As the months went by and coronavirus ravaged the music industry, many began to speculate that the tour would be postponed but no one really knew. Until now, everyone in the bands including Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe and Bret Michaels of Poison were hopeful.

In an interview back in May with the Arizona Republic, Michaels said he’s excited for the shows. But, he knows safety comes first.

“At the moment, we don’t know. That answer is confirmed. We don’t know. The health is number one. The health of the fans. The band’s crew. The people working at the venues. The first responders. That comes first. And if the CDC [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] says it’s a go? I will be there, ready to rock. [And if not], then it’s not over. It’s just postponed. Those dates have almost all completely sold out. We added a second night at Fenway. I think Jacksonville went quick. Milwaukee was the quickest sellout they ever had. It was like 43 minutes.”
