Mötley Crüe are back on top with ‘The Dirt’ soundtrack

Mötley Crüe are back to a very familiar place, with their recently released biopic The Dirt creating quite a buzz, and it’s now propelling the band back to the top of the charts.

The band have seen a massive streaming spike since the movie’s release, with their new music now getting just as much love as the classics.

Following The Dirt’s March 22 release, Mötley Crüe’s catalog saw a 570 percent increase on Spotify and a 900 percent increase on Apple Music. The number of Apple iTunes downloads also increased by 2027 percent.

Now, the film’s soundtrack has squeaked its way into the Billboard 200’s top 10. Among the tracks included in the release are a Machine Gun Kelly collab, “The Dirt (Est. 1981),” a Madonna cover and two new tracks.

A familiar spot for Crüe albums, the band have held nearly every place on the top 10 with their famed discography before grabbing No.10 with The Dirt’s soundtrack.

Mötley Crüe have taken their place in the top 10 eight times prior to their latest addition, the last being 2008’s Saints Of Los Angeles.

Despite fan hype, critics seem to be throwing a lot of hate on the film, which comes in with a 44 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Nikki Sixx sounded off on the lack of critic recognition, thanking fans for skyrocketing the new album to the top.

“Once again, worldwide the critics are wrong about @MotleyCrue and again are disrespectful of our fans actual knowledge of the bands music. Click baiting is a real thing but you guys don’t buy the bullshit. The movie and all our music is blowing up because of YÖÜ.#CrueHeads THANK Ü,” the tweet reads.

You can stream The Dirt on Netflix now. Check out the trailer below.
