The entire music community has come together to show support and love for the reunion of emo favorites My Chemical Romance at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

On Halloween, MCR announced their return show nearly two months in advance, to take place in Los Angeles. Now the wait and emotional preparation is finally over, as the band took the stage last night at 9:45 p.m. PT for the first time since leaving the Bamboozle stage seven years ago.

Following an opening performance by Thursday, Frank Iero, Gerard WayMikey Way and Ray Toro took to the stage with Jarrod Alexander on drums.

The group kicked things off with a new angel-adorned curtain as audio references to their albums played including “Look alive, sunshine” and the opening dialogue of the “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” video before launching into the Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge track.

Their setlist was packed full of fan favorites like we knew it would be. Fans donned their black eyeliner and My Chemical Romance attire, as the band performed track after track of classic and timeless songs from throughout their entire discography.

They wrapped up their set with the tracks “Helena” and “Welcome To The Black Parade,” giving fans exactly what they wanted. Among the fans beyond excited about the happenings last night, may be some familiar names.

More on My Chemical Romance’s reunion

They said it would never happen, but then it did on Halloween. Activity began on a new Instagram account for My Chemical Romance with posts surfacing shortly after fans began speculating Iero’s Oct. 30 Instagram post was about more than the weather.

“it’s reported that it’s going to rain in new jersey tomorrow, washing out all Halloween festivities…” Iero posted. “Guess we’re gonna have to find something else to do.”

At 2 p.m. ET Oct. 31, the band’s Facebook page changed their profile picture to a black candle, beginning an hour filled with teases and speculation. Read the rest of the return details from Halloween here.

Following last night’s big return, the band will head to Australia, New Zealand and Japan in 2020. Check out the full list of dates below and grab your tickets here.
