Prior to tonight’s event, Twitter users were warning fans of the potential chaos that could come with such a large event.
Yea ive been to the shrine, literally no order. only chaos. first in line is the middle now. security is hell. get ready.

I’ve been to a show where we were there early, stayed in the 1st line but then the shrine divided the line into 8 lines and gave early entry wristbands (first to go in) to the first 15 people in each of those 8 lines and didn’t tell anyone until it was time to give them out

As Tuesday night rolled around, fans began lining up and camping out outside of the Shrine. According to fans in attendance, the venue honored the number system set up by those there.
just a few points:
the line/camping started on tuesday with security/venue higher up approval once seen.
there will only be one line.
there is a number system that will be honored.
they’ve been having meetings and planning for weeks. they’re ready and so are we. 1 more night!— anissa! (@phant_o_matic) December 19, 2019

As the time for doors drew near and the line continued to grow, a sudden jump forward in the line lead to a bit of drama and attempts at cutting the line.

Yeah, just a bunch of people took advantage of the confusion to cut in line and then started arguing when people complained about it. Everybody is safe as far as I can tell.

More on the My Chemical Romance return show teasing
The teasing didn’t stop after the band made their official return announcement on Halloween. As fans worked to regain their composure in the days following, the band then confirmed Jarrod Alexander would be joining them on drums for the return.
Alexander first began playing alongside the band midway through the 2011 Honda Civic Tour. He hopped on after former touring drummer Mike Pedicone (who replaced Bob Bryar after his 2010 departure) was accused of stealing. Alexander played with the band for the subsequent gigs including their final show at Bamboozle in May 2012 where they replaced Honda Civic tourmates blink-182 a week out due to Travis Barker’s emergency tonsillectomy.
Following their 2013 disbandment, Alexander continued to work with the individual members on solo efforts. He drummed on frnkiero and the cellabration’s Stomachaches and Ray Toro’s Remember The Laughter. Alexander also plays on Gerard Way’s solo debut, Hesitant Alien, and as the drummer of his backing band, the Hormones. He also appeared on some of the frontman’s most recent solo material including “Dasher” with the Regrettes’ Lydia Night and a cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “A Hazy Shade of Winter” with Toro for The Umbrella Academy.
Shortly after Alexander’s return confirmation, MCR revealed Thursday would be joining the reunion show as support. The two bands’ history stretches way back, with Thursday frontman Geoff Rickly producing MCR’s 2002 debut, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. Rickly recently discussed with AltPress his role in mentoring the band and how their major-label signing ahead of Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge decision bummed him out.

The following week, My Chemical Romance shared their first photo together since announcing their reunion. Toro, Gerard and Mikey Way and Frank Iero sat in front of a drum kit at a rehearsal that apparently took place a few days prior. There was no additional information available in the caption, but the collective world of emos appreciated a fresh photo. You can see their new post below.
The following month, My Chemical Romance sent fans into a frenzy again. Sixteen days ahead of their return to the stage, the band took to social media to tease a new image. With posts few and far between, anything shared from the band account has continued to pump fans up, and a chandelier-filled hallway was no different.
The official My Chemical Romance account shared a black-and-white image of a hallway adorned with chandeliers and open doors. The image is exactly what you expect, adding a filter to the Shrine Expo Hall. You can see a nearly identical photo here.

Sedecim Diebus… pic.twitter.com/zoVFQh0PQI
— My Chemical Romance (@MCRofficial) December 4, 2019
With the image was the phrase “Sedecim Diebus…” which translates directly to “16 days” in Latin. Fans responded to the image with excitement and begging for a U.S. tour. Others started joking and theorizing what it meant past the literal interpretation as other imagery theories have emerged. Check out some of them here.
Following tonight’s big return, the band will head to Australia, New Zealand and Japan in 2020. Check out the full list of dates below with tickets here.
