You’ve probably heard of 10-year old Nandi Bushell. The young star has been in the spotlight for a while due to her immense amount of musical talent. Over the weekend, she posted a video of her covering Rage Against The Machine‘s “Guerilla Radio.” Tom Morello absolutely loved it.

Bushell posted the video in solidarity and support of Black Lives Matter in their fight to end racism.

Rage Against The Machine has always been open with their political sentiments and fight for activism. In fact, even their name portrays that. Rage Against The Machine walked onstage naked at Lollapalooza in 1993 with duct tape over their mouths to protest censorship. They got their second song cut during their stint on Saturday Night Live! when they draped upside-down American flags over their amps.

So what better way to literally rage against the machine than by playing one of their songs? That’s exactly what Nandi Bushell did.

Bushell posted a video of herself playing drums, guitar and bass to “Guerilla Radio.” Not only does Bushell look like she’s having a blast, but she’s standing up for what she believes in. On the bass drum is a Black Lives Matter sign. After her performance, she flips her guitar to reveal the “Fight Racism” message scrawled onto the back. Watch it below.

Nandi Bushell’s performance comes at a very important time. With the killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and more, people are opening their eyes to the plight of BIPOC. Bushell’s performance drew the attention of Tom Morello who knows it’s the way forward.
