Naruto is an anime series based on the first twenty-seven volumes in Part I of Masashi Kishimoto's manga series of the same name. The series first aired in October 2002, with 220 episodes running until February 2007 on TV Tokyo in Japan.

The English adaptation of the episodes were aired on Cartoon Network’s Toonami from September 2005 through September 2008, with sporadic episodes playing through January 2009.

In 2007, a different version of the show, Naruto Shippuden, kicked off and has been running until now. The show will end on its 500th episode.
