Neck Deep merch manager hospitalized after accident at SXSW
Neck Deep merchandise manager Derek Buell was hospitalized last night after reportedly falling about 40 feet from a balcony at South By Southwest.
According to various online reports, Buell was in critical condition overnight, but is now stable and awake.
“Derek is awake and talking and a full recovery is expected,” Buell’s father Chris said earlier today in an update to a Facebook status that revealed the extent of his son’s injuries, which include fractures of the skull, face and vertebrae.

Former Go Radio drummer Steven Kopacz has also tweeted, confirming that despite Buell’s injuries, he is expected to make a full recovery.
