According to Variety, the releases include Alfonso Cuarón’s Roma, The Coen brothers’ The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs and Bird Box, which stars Sandra Bullock and features Machine Gun Kelly in a supporting role.

While the streaming service has been talking with movie theater operations for months, Netflix has declined every opportunity to show their movies in theaters until now. While most theaters asked for a 90-day run with the film, Netflix managed to negotiate them to show all three films for a shorter time. The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs and Bird Box will be shown for one week while Roma will be featured for three weeks.

Buster Scruggs will be in theaters Nov. 8 and make its way to your laptop screens Nov. 16. Bird Box will follow a similar timeline, but instead will be in theaters Dec. 13 and be released on Netflix on Dec. 21. Roma will be in theaters Nov. 21 all the way through Dec. 14.

According to AV Club, they predict that Netflix is doing this to have their hand in future Academy Award nominations.
