‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ announces Halsey, Weezer, more for lineup

Watching the dazzling ball slowly drop in Times Square is a New Year’s Eve tradition for many. Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve broadcasts the big moment annually along with a plethora of performances.

The show released the first round of performers last month, and they just added Post Malone last week. Now, they’re unleashing another round of announcements.

Today, New Year’s Rockin’ Eve revealed several more artists are joining the Hollywood Party. They include Halsey, Weezer, Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, Kane Brown, Bazzi, and Lauren Alaina.

Ciara will also be performing as well as hosting the Hollywood party. Ryan Seacrest will host the main production from New York City and will be joined by Jenny McCarthy again. Actress Lucy Hale returns to hold it down in New Orleans.

Last month, Seacrest announced the first batch of Hollywood performers, which includes Foster The Peoplethe Chainsmokers, Charlie Puth, Macklemore with Skylar Grey, Kelsea Ballerini, Dua Lipa and Ella Mai.

So, far Post Malone is the only artist announced for New York City. The musician will be in town Dec. 31, but instead of hitting the stage in Times Square, Posty will broadcast from his own show at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Billboard reports this will air just after midnight, marking both his first New Year’s Rockin’ Eve performance and the first TV performance of 2019.

Seacrest also promised more performer announcements are yet to come, including those who will be in New York City. This year’s show airs Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.

Past New Year’s Rockin’ Eve performances

Last year, Camila Cabello, Portugal. the Man, HalseyG-EazyImagine Dragons and Walk The Moon among others performed from various locations during the broadcast.

Neon Trees, the Fray, Charlie XCX, Demi Lovato, DNCE, Nick Jonas and many, many more have performed at the show over the past few years.

Fall Out Boy performed for both the 2014 and 2016 broadcasts. For 2014, the band played “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)” from the Hollywood party hosted by Fergie.

Panic! At The Disco rang in the new year two years ago. The band gave an amazing performance in New Orleans. Their setlist included, “Victorious,” “Death of a Bachelor” and “I Write Sins Not Tragedies.”
