The Korea Times reported about the new drinks hitting the South Korean market on Sunday revealing these drinks are actually healthier than most soft drinks on the South Korean market.

It was reported that, “a 400-milliliter bottle of HP and MP contains only 120 kilocalories each, 30 percent lower than the average calories of existing carbonated drinks sold in Korea, according to the company.”

HP features both grape and aronia juice, while MP has apple juice. Another difference between the drinks is HP has taurine while MP contains theanine. Mayo Clinic reports that taurine “supports neurological development and helps regulate the level of water and minerals in the blood” and “is found naturally in meat, fish and breast milk.”

Examine writes that theanine “is a relaxing and nondietary amino acid found pretty much exclusively in teas … and is known to promote relaxation without sedation.”

Unfortunately, these drinks are only available in South Korea but we're hoping they find their way around the world soon. Currently, the cosplay group Spiral Cats is helping to promote the drink. Check out pictures below!
