The group isn’t one to shy away from cryptic messages. Back in September, frontman Matty Healy posted a cryptic Tweet that made us excited—and unsure of what to expect: “New The 1975 – 2017.”

Their second album, I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It, was released in February of this year and came after the group temporarily deleted their entire social media presence to transition from their first album black-and white-aesthetic to their pastel pink vibe for their second release.

We can't fully tell what's going on in Daniel's video, but we can get all the vibes from the 17 seconds he shared.

Whether we hear new music in 2017, or if we'll just have to stick it out until 2018 to hear some new tunes, we can all appreciate the group’s performance earlier this year with the BBC Philharmonic. The 1975 performed some of their biggest hits alongside a full orchestra, and their video of “Somebody Else” is enough to get us through until we find out what’s really up next for the 1975.

When are you hoping the 1975 will release new music? Let us know in the comments below!
