'Nightmare Before Christmas' could get a possible live-action remake

The Nightmare Before Christmas can easily be considered a timeless classic that has only grown in popularity over time. Disney has obviously taken notice, with talks surfacing of a possible sequel or even a live-action film for the spooky classic.

No, we’re not kidding.

The Tim Burton-produced film hit theaters in 1993, just before Halloween weekend, and ran through the first week of December. While it performed pretty well in the box office, it was by no means the massive success it is today.

The increasing popularity of the film has been noticed by Disney, who seem to be looking to take advantage of this by revisiting the film for some sort of follow-up.

According to Moviehole, there’s talk at Disney to “do something with Nightmare Before Christmas – probably a sequel but live-action possible”.

Excuse me?

This tip comes from a source that Moviehole claims “has given credible intent in the past.”

Disney has definitely been pumping out the live-action remakes lately. Between Aladdin, Dumbo, Beauty and the Beast, and the Lion King, we wouldn’t be too surprised to see a Nightmare live-action remake.

We’re not entirely sure how a live-action film for this particular movie would actually work though. Maybe Disney would take more of the CGI route like it has for the Lion King, or maybe they’ll just stick with the idea of a sequel.

Either way, we’re pretty exited to see what lies ahead for The Nightmare Before Christmas.

We just hope whatever comes next can live up to the hype of the original film… if that’s even possible.
